Salmon Creek Journal
There are presently no open calls for submissions.
Our theme for the 2019 Salmon Creek Journal is Divergence.
Consider a winding road, maybe you're hiking through the forest, the trail forks in two directions, or perhaps your latest frenemy has been assigned with you as a lab partner, or an important project at work, or you experience a duality of opinion, something in opposition to another, a division or deviation of opinion, thought or emotion.
Maybe you think of Divergence in a way that we haven't imagined. We would very much like to see or read that.
Salmon Creek Journal is an art and literary journal of WSU Vancouver. It exists through the kind funding of student activity fees and by the blood, sweat and tears of our editorial board.
If the word Divergence is getting in the way of your art, try these words instead: juxtaposition, breaking rules, mitosis, rose and thorn, dogs and cats living together, total mayhem.
Whatever you submit, make it your absolute best and as soon as possible. We look forward to reviewing your interpretation of our theme.
Before submitting, please stop and think on the following:
- The work is original and your own
- The work has not been previously published in print.
- The work may receive minor edits or altered for style and grammar by our editorial team
If accepted, you agree to grant Salmon Creek Journal First North American Rights to publish your piece in our 2019 issue. Further, SCJ may, at its sole discretion and without further granting of rights, to reprint the piece online, whether on its own or included in the anthology. All rights revert to the author upon release of the printed anthology, except where SCJ may choose to re-release the piece online or reference in future promotions.
